"jazz (something) up" 是使一件原本可能有點沉悶的事變得有趣些。好比有人在一個冗長的會議里作些說些笑話之類的事, 企圖讓大家從昏迷中醒來, 就可以說"He tried to jazz the meeting up."

 

注:還有一種說法是spice it up..hey, your new novel is kind of boring. you should spice it up a bit--maybe add a few murder stories cauz people dig that! people dig that 指的是people love it. dig 的這種用法很常見
